Flagship Niagara Live-Aboard Sailing Programs

Whether you are a student, retired, young or old, or simply looking for a unique “working vacation”, the Flagship Niagara provides all who sail onboard with a true adventure of a lifetime.

As a world class sail training ship, Flagship Niagara conducts a busy annual schedule serving several purposes. Foremost, she is a world-class experiential education platform that is best utilized toward the development of young minds, bodies, and souls. The history and significance of the Battle of Lake Erie, the War of 1812, and the maritime heritage of the Great Lakes could never be interpreted in a more vibrant and real way than through actual use of an authentic replica 1813 US naval warship.

Utilizing an internationally acclaimed experiential educational platform known as “sail training”, the ship serves as a microcosm for the real world – a living laboratory that uses a 19th century environment to hone skills applicable to the 21st century. Sail training is an internationally recognized and academically proven strategy that uses sailing as a medium to build confidence and life skills. The Flagship Niagara is the largest and most historically authentic wooden tall ship sailing under an American flag for public use.

Sailing on a ship of such size and stature, with a crew comprised of licensed professionals, trainees, and volunteers is virtually unheard of in today’s world. In fact, the staff to trainee ratio of 1:1 likely exceeds all other experiential education providers.

Best of all, we offer this exceptional learning and adventure opportunity at some of the lowest program fees in the country. Capacity is limited and fills up quickly.
