The Erie Maritime Museum is nestled along the stunning shores of Lake Erie, situated in the historic maritime city of Erie, Pennsylvania. We afford our visitors picturesque views of our waterfront just a short drive from Presque Isle State Park. The Maritime Museum is located just off the Bayfront Parkway via Holland and/or State Streets in Downtown Erie.

From Buffalo, New York, and points North

Via I-90W, you will enjoy a scenic drive along Lake Erie's shoreline. The journey lasts around 2 hours, passing picturesque towns such as Dunkirk, Fredonia, and North East before arriving in Erie. Take Exit 32 onto PA-290W, otherwise known as the Bayfront Connector, passing Penn State Behrend, staying on the connector for 4.5 miles. Use the left 2 lanes to stay on E Bayfront Parkway for 1 mile. Turn right on Holland Street and take an immediate left onto E Front Street.

From Jamestown, New York, and points East

Driving from Jamestown, New York to Erie will bring you over beautiful Chautauqua Lake via the Southern Tier Expressway (I-86). Merge onto I-90W toward Erie, staying on the Interstate for 4.8 miles. Take Exit 32 for PA-290, otherwise known as the Bayfront Connector, passing Penn State Behrend, staying on the connector for 4.5 miles. Use the left 2 lanes to stay on E Bayfront Parkway for 1 mile. Turn right on Holland Street and take an immediate left onto E Front Street.

From Cleveland, Ohio, and points West

The trip from Cleveland, Ohio offers views of beautiful Eastern Ohio and the ever-beautiful Lake Erie. From Cleveland, take I-90 East, keeping left to continue on the Lakeland Freeway for 5 miles. Continuing on I-90, follow signs for I-271S to Erie, PA for 3 miles. Stay on I-90 for 77 miles, then take Exit 22B onto I-79N toward Erie. This will merge with the West Bayfront Parkway. Continue on the West Bayfront Parkway for 3 miles. Turn left onto State Street, taking an immediate right onto East Front Street.

From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and points South

A little quicker than Oliver Hazard Perry’s trip from the Steel City in the Winter of 1813, you will need to follow I-79N to Erie. Follow I-79 for 112 miles, eventually merging onto the West Bayfront Parkway. Continue on the West Bayfront Parkway for 3 miles. Turn left onto State Street, taking an immediate right onto East Front Street.
